P.E - Intent, Implementation and Impact
In P.E. the children are taught to develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities through Games, Gymnastics, Dance, Athletics, Outdoor and Adventurous Activities and Swimming.
In lessons, they are taught to be physically active for sustained periods of time and engage in activities which provide opportunities to improve the range and quality of their skills and also develop healthy competition and team work.
In P.E. the children learn about the importance of physical activity, safety, personal hygiene and also to develop British values of fair play, respect for and encouragement to others. We encourage children to strive for their personal best and, above all, promote an enjoyment of physical activities to encourage them to lead healthy and active lives.
In the summer term we hold Sports Day which is always a fun day of sporting activities.
All our staff are trained in Real PE; further information on the Real PE programme can be found on the link below.
We are very lucky to have access to the Dulverton Junior School covered and heated swimming pool. The pool is used for swimming lessons throughout the Summer term.
